Official BotCon Announcement - May 2021

On May 10th 2021-

BotCon FINALLY posted to its Facebook page a statement giving detail to who is apart of "BC Productions" that owns the name "BotCon" and outlined who is who on board of trustees. One of whom is Pete Sinclair, confirming what fans had been stewing over for a year.

It was also then pushed out to their other media account on Twitter, click here.

BUT did BotCon ever NOT say Pete was involved? Did they lie?

BotCon never said anything officially for or against it. Fans were actively talking online in public spaces and forums about it, and messaging on BotCon social media to "address" if Pete was working for the convention or not. BotCon simply said nothing. Silence. For over a year. Not confirming or denying.

Plausible deniability could be the reason for saying nothing. Or it could have been a detail lost to them since a month after the February 2020 announcement the whole world went into lockdown because of the Covid-19 Corona Virus Pandemic. At least having said nothing they didn't have to take it back later as having lied that Pete was involved.

This of course means with Pete addressing fans on allspark and on social media, where BotCon was being SILENT, that it appeared to fans Pete had a greater role in the relaunch of BotCon. All of this online chatter could have been put to rest early on if they had just announced who was involved. And a few shareholders claimed in twitter conversations they did nothing to actually cause the frustrations of fans because they never really said anything.

Whether they asked Pete NOT to speak on their behalf, fans will never know as it could have taken place behind closed doors and private messages no one was privy to see.

Which brings up the question of why if they understand their audience and their fans so much would they let something like this slide so long? Or better yet, say nothing, let fans theories run crazy and then turn around and shame the very people they'd make a convention for?

Who goes out of their way to start a convention only to mock and make their potential customers feel foolish or dumb and hope that they still "attend?" Or that those fans don't matter because the real supporters, who aren't openly criticizing them, will see that these fans are in fact upset over nothing?

Someone with a bad business model.

Have they weighed that supportive fans are more important in the long run? Only cater to the happy ones?

Unsatisfied fans have pointed out past owners of BotCon have failed to listen to valid concerns and react poorly to critical points. And this continues to be BotCon's problem with the new ownership of BC Productions. It makes a fan wonder if they plan to continue this behavior going forward?

Have they caused this divisiveness? Probably not. But they certainly haven't gone out of their way to build good will from the start of their announcement either.

And that leaves TFCO with the final question of DID they even have a plan from the start?
